YES (Youthful Elite Society), established on 27 September 2023 is a registered Non-Governmental Organization based in Rongnihang, Diphu, Karbi Anglong,Assam – 782460. Driven by a mission to foster sustainable development and cultural enrichment, YES operates with a core focus on-

Registered under the Government of Assam Registration of Societies ActXXI of 1860, with Registration Number: RS/KARBI/249/RFSRS/202302939 of 2023-2024, YES is committed to promoting environment awareness, health and community well-being through youth engagement, education, and grassroots initiatives.
YES actively organizes campaigns, workshops, and community programs that address environmental, Drugs and Education challenges while also preserving and celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of the region. By nurturing a sense of responsibility and leadership among young individuals, the organization aims to inspire a generation that is conscious of its environment and proud of its cultural roots.
With its base in the heart of Karbi Anglong, YES continues to work collaboratively with local communities, government bodies, and like-minded organizations to create lasting social and environmental impact.
What we do

Cleanliness drive at Langvoku Falls under the theme “Sustainable & Responsible Tourism – Waste-Free and Community-Based Initiative.
The programme was held in collaboration with Karbi Anglong Tourism, Kache Construction, and Aaranyak, and supported by The Drongo Express, Hongjai, Ingdang Society, Heritage Learning Programme, Anglong Tours, The Heavy Squads, Yuva Tourism Club and the NSS Wing of Diphu Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School. The initiative aimed to promote sustainable tourism and responsible practices among visitors, focusing on waste-free tourism and community participation. Volunteers, youth, and local community members actively cleaned the site and spread awareness on reducing plastic use, proper waste disposal, and preserving the natural beauty of Langvoku Falls. The drive also highlighted the importance of community-based tourism in balancing ecological conservation with livelihood opportunities.
"Run Against Drugs" – An Anti-Drug Mini-Marathon
On a determined morning in Dongkamukam, West Karbi Anglong, the District Social Welfare Department, in collaboration with Youthful Elite Society (YES), organized “Run Against Drugs”, a spirited anti-drug mini-marathon and awareness campaign. The event commenced at 7:00 AM from the premises of Dongkamukam Higher Secondary School and witnessed a remarkable turnout of enthusiastic participants, supporters, and volunteers from the local community. The mini-marathon served not just as a physical activity but as a powerful statement against the growing menace of drug abuse, especially among the youth. Participants of all age groups joined the run, showcasing their commitment to promoting a drug-free and healthier society. Spectators and volunteers lined the route, cheering and encouraging the runners, reinforcing a collective spirit of resistance against substance abuse. The event emphasized unity, awareness, and the urgent need for community-led action to combat drug addiction. Through the collaborative efforts of the District Social Welfare office and YES, “Run Against Drugs” successfully ignited awareness, fostered solidarity, and marked a significant step towards building a safer and drug-free future for West Karbi Anglong.


Cleanliness Drive & Awareness Workshop on Sustainable Tourism at Longso Kangthu Picnic Spot.
On 6th July 2025, YES NGO successfully organized a Cleanliness Drive and Awareness Workshop at Longso Kangthu with the theme “Sustainable Tourism and Responsible Waste Disposal.” The initiative aimed at promoting eco-friendly practices, preserving the natural beauty of tourist spots, and sensitizing visitors about their role in protecting the environment.
The programme witnessed active collaboration and participation from multiple organizations and stakeholders, including:
- Karbi Anglong Tourism Department
- Forest Department
- Volunteers, students, and community members joined hands to clean the surroundings, spread awareness on minimizing plastic use, and encouraged visitors to adopt responsible tourism practices. The collective effort not only enhanced the cleanliness of the site but also strengthened the spirit of community participation for environmental conservation.
Diphu Inter School Art Competition on Environmental Conservation
The year concluded on a creative and powerful note with the Diphu Inter School Art Competition, organized by YES in collaboration with SANKALP and under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative. Held at the Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, the competition welcomed young artists from across Diphu to express their views on “Environ-mental Conservation” through various artistic forms. Judged by esteemed art experts Mr.Deben Timung and Mr.Sersong Terang, the event highlighted the role of art in environmental advocacy. The presence of Dr. Ankita Bora (ACS), ADC of Karbi Anglong, added prestige and motivation to the occasion. The initiative showcased the potential of youth to become agents of change and emphasized the importance of art in spreading powerful messages. The event served as both a celebration of artistic talent and a clarion call for environmental consciousness among the youth.


Independence Day 'Plant for Mother' Campaign
YES marked Independence Day with a unique and meaningful celebration under the ‘Plant for Mother’ campaign, in collaboration with DHEW. The campaign, held at the Sakhi-One Stop Centre and Khorsing Terang Children’s Park, blended the themes of environmental stewardship and women’s empowerment. On this day of national pride, participants planted trees that symbolized the strength of Mother Earth and the unwavering resilience of women—two essential forces that nurture and sustain life. The initiative aimed to beautify public spaces while promoting a culture of sustainability and inclusivity. Each sapling served as a living promise to protect the planet and support the empowerment of women. The campaign resonated with the true spirit of free-dom-one that honors nature and champions equality. Through this initiative, YES underscored its vision of a greener and more just society, where every act of growth contributes to the common good.
Observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
On 26th June 2025, members of Youthful Elite Society (YES) attended the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at the Meeting Hall, Multi-Utility Building, Hamren, organized by the Department of Women and Child Development, West Karbi Anglong under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The programme, which commenced at 11:30 A.M., emphasized the urgent need for coordinated action to break the cycle of drug trafficking and organized crime through investment in prevention and the strengthening of health, education, and social systems. The presence of YES members added significant value to the event, showcasing their commitment to a drug-free society. Their active participation also served as a source of encouragement to stakeholders, community members, and youth, reinforcing the collective resolve to combat substance abuse and promote healthier, more resilient communities.


Inter-School Volleyball Tournament – A Unified Stand Against Drug Abuse
On June 21, 2025, the serene setting of Rongchingdon Pathu Aklam, Hamren, West Karbi Anglong, came alive with energy and purpose as students from various schools gathered for the Inter-School Volleyball Tournament. More than just a sporting event, the tournament served as a powerful platform to raise awareness about drug abuse and illicit trafficking. Every spike, serve, and save echoed a collective stand for a drug-free future, blending athletic spirit with social responsibility.
Organized by the District Social Welfare Office, West Karbi Anglong, in collaboration with Youthful Elite Society (YES), the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from school teams and spirited support from the local community. The players showcased exceptional teamwork, discipline, and determination, turning the volleyball court into a stage for advocacy and inspiration.
